Everything was ok except the door does...
Everything was ok except the door does not have a rope to pull the door open & since I am handicaped it is very difficult for me. Since I won't be back until June I didn't mention it. That said, the tenant should have caut it when he opened the door.

My experience at public storage was awesome service excellent They answered all my questions help me with the storage that I needed showed me what I needed to do how to get in and I will continue my business at public storage.

Like this place, ended up being nice and close to my house. That said, Like others, I was shocked with the 'insurance' and the lock purchase. I was led to believe I had to have the lock, only to discover, I can lock the unit with a lock of my choice and would not have had to pay $20 dollars for a lock I will end up having no use for, when I leave this property. That information needs to made clearer and also up front and not while signing paperwork. Also, it is very inconvenient to stop at office to leave 'collateral' simply to use the hand carts. Twice now, I have had to wait for the employee's to show up to either get a cart, or return the key to get my 'collateral' back so I could leave. Otherwise, am pretty happy with this location.

Room for Improvement
While the professionalism of Jesse was absolutely on point, I feel there are a couple things that need to be stated up front in the e-mails when you reserve a unit AND on the website...for one, the mandatory insurance for your belongings in the unit...I was absolutely blindsided that insurance was mandatory. None of the other storage units I have rented have required it. The other thing is the locks.. the unit I received required a cylinder lock, and here again, I felt like I was forced to have to buy the lock from the office instead of being given the opportunity to try and locate an acceptable one of my own. I will continue to be a Public Storage Customer, but I would make those things known in both e-mail communications when a reservation is made AS WELL AS on the website.

Poor customer service, inconvenient
Overall, I am satisfied with the location, size of my storage space, and the price. However, I have already had a couple negative experiences since I began renting a space there just a couple weeks ago.
The hours are inconvenient and the elevators are pretty janky, which I can live with. However, on a recent last-minute trip to get something important out of my unit, I was appalled by how rude one of the staff members was. (I believe her name is Ashley?-at the 85015 location in Phoenix) I had been delayed by car trouble and unfortunately got there at 5:59, right as the facility was closing. I realized I was too late and was about to leave, but saw that she was making an exception and letting another customer in. Typically I wouldn't have bothered, but the item I needed out of the unit was really urgent and I was supposed to leave town that night, so I turned around to see if it might be okay if I just popped in for literally two minutes. As I was pulling into the parking lot, she got visibly angry and just started flailing her arms as if to "shoo" me away. I got out of my car to ask if I could just run in quickly since she had let the other customer in, but before I could even get a word out she very rudely just said "We're closed. You can't store today." I understand that I was late, but her attitude was unprofessional and completely unnecessary, especially since she was already making an exception for another customer.
Furthermore, it is ridiculous that in the event that you are locked out of your unit, you have to go to the facility in person to fill out the authorization for the locksmith, and then the locksmith could take up to two weeks.
On my most recent visit, just yesterday, there was a visibly homeless man loitering in front of the office with a large backpack. He waited until I punched in the gate code and then walked in behind my car and looked suspicious when I said he needed to put in his own code. Made me question the security of the property.
I am hesitant to even leave this review for fear of some kind of retaliation since all of my belongings are there, but since I received the email prompting me for my feedback, there you have it. I am considering moving to a different unit.

Locks, insurance, and climate control
I was disappointed with the climate control. I didn't expect evaporative coolers to be used for climate control. Not to useful this time of year in Phoenix, AZ. I sweated like crazy moving my items into what I thought was going to be a cool building. I was also upset in that I couldn't use the lock I had brought with me and had to purchase two locks for one 10 x 10 unit. And finally, I had to insure my unit that is inside a secured building for $15 a month. Maybe I didn't check the website good enough, but it wasn't obvious that the locks needed to be purchased, which should be included in the rental price, and insurance was needed. Ashley, the person that assisted me, was very kind, courteous, and knowledgeable, and thoroughly explained everything to me.

Very easy transition19th and Camelback location
Very easy transition, the young lady that helped me finish online reservation was great. Felt sorry for her, her chair rolled when she stood up, and then she went to sit down and fell flat on her back. Glad she didnt get hurt. Prices were excellent and cleanliness of facility was outstanding.

The staff is amazing! I would it give it a 5 star if you would it have lights in the stairs. Rented a space in the second floor. I decided to use the stairs and I kind of panicked because it was very dark and also super dirty. I saw some toilet paper in the floor and I just rushed to the exit. I wonder if some homeless people use them, that is all I can think of to explain why there was toilet paper.

Mayte was awesome. Fantastic customer service. Quick and easy. Bring renter's insurance though as its mandatory. (1 month later) I find that Public Storage's first month free program ?cost me $58 in various fees. So it wasn't actually free. Live and learn.

not awful, but not great. the units are fine and the price is decent, but the customer service side leaves a lot to be desited. they never answer the phone, they're always out of the office when you need something, they're gone much longer than the sign on the door ever indicates. I had to wait 40 minutes for someone once, it's a little ridiculous. also they don't honor their word. I was guaranteed a price and then the unit they were going to give me was still occupied by a precious tenant. they said to come back in two days and they would give me the original price. I did. they didn't. so I took my business elsewhere.

Easy pie. First he showed me where my unit was, then filled out the paper work, paid for my unit and I was on my way in less than 20 minutes.

Got What I Needed - But First Month Rental Deal Is Deceptive
Its a storage unit, so what could be so great about it? I sought one of the $1 Pays First Month deals since I would need the unit for only 2 weeks. There was a setup fee plus required renter's insurance. So my $1 rental cost me $37 (actually $56 total by end of month move out) Eh, could be worse I suppose. Unit is 4 steel walls and roof with a roll-up door. What do you expect? The Hilton? Anyway, customer service was the shining point to an otherwise common adventure. Mayte and the other girls in the office are right on point with taking care of all things storage. Granted, because of proximity to the light rail and lower class neighborhood, this unit is tricky to get to and somewhat difficult to get out of (traffic wise). All in all.. eh .. its a storage unit.

Staff is great. Facility needs to be clean. Elevators were dirty. Carts are broken.
I think this facility could use some cleaning up. I came from another storage unit that was pleasantly clean. The elevators were filthy & dirty. Stains on floors. Carts had to be checked out & were chipped & broken. Staff was great!!

everyone was courteous and helpful. The price is much better than I have found elsewhere I wish there was lighting in my space. I have trouble finding some of my small items that are stored in boxes.

Very helpful and informative
The young lady who took care of us, Jailene, was pleasant and obviously "knew her stuff." She was patient while we were filling out the forms and still was able to at least greet the other people coming into the office while working with us. She did have help in the office (I think her name was Meyte?) so no one was left standing without someone acknowledging them. A number of years ago had rented storage space with Public Storage and really had no problems so we knew what to expect as far as the actual unit. The place was clean and even the elevator looked like it was taken care of.

Fantastic people, facility and value!
I would highly recommend this Public Storage facility to anyone that has the need to store items. It is clean, safe, secure and the people at the office are the best! They are courteous, friendly, professional and listen to what you need, not trying to sell anything you don't need.

overpriced application fee
I liked the fact that there is a promotion for a $1 your first month but I didn't appreciate the fact that the application fee was $22 and then you had to purchase one of the public storage locks even if you had your own industrial lock and also I didn't like the fact that I had to get insurance for $11. So basically I felt duped. The only reason why I chose public storage was because of the $1 for your first month, thinking that was all I had to pay and nothing else. I hate feeling baited. When my friends ask about my experience that is what I am going to tell them. At lease the staff were friendly at the storage facility I was at otherwise I wouldv'e given a 2 star.
