Washington University in Saint Louis is one of the highest ranked and most beautiful campuses in the country. The university offers more than 90 programs and almost 1,500 courses leading to bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees. Founded in 1853, the school is named after George Washington. It has attracted students and faculty from all 50 states and more than 120 countries. Originally the University was officially incorporated as “The Washington University”. It is sometimes referred to as “WUSTL”, an acronym derived from its initials. WUSTL has been selected by the commission on Presidential Debates more than any other institution in history to host presidential and vice presidential debates. Presidential debates were held in 1992, 2000 and 2004 at the Washington University Athletic Complex. One Vice Presidential debate was also held at the Athletic Complex in October of 2008.

The Medical Campus Complex is in Saint Louis’s Central West End. This area includes the School of Medicine’s associated hospital and institutes of the Washington University Medical Center. Washington University has a vibrant variety of public arts including concerts, plays, art shows, and writing workshops that help students improve their writing talents.The Danforth Campus itself is 169-acres, and features predominantly Collegiate Gothic architecture, including a number of buildings on the National Register of Historic Places.

Surrounded by Forest Park, Wash U students can jog the many paths, relax and enjoy a picnic, or visit the world famous St. Louis Zoo. Not far away are arguably the most beautiful Botanical Gardens in the world. Students do not have to travel far off the campus to find wonderful and interesting things to do.  The Delmar Loop is nearby, as is the Clayton business district. Some of the top employers in the St. Louis area are the BJC Health Systems, Boeing, SSM Healthcare System, and Washington University itself.

On some students’ list of things to consider is finding a self storage facility close to Washington University. With a substantial study abroad program, students may find themselves in need of self storage units located near 63130. If you are not familiar with self storage, there are a variety of features to look for. Students may be looking for 24 hour access, direct drive-up or a gated facility. It is important to shop around for these and other features at an affordable rent. You should be able to find a 5’x5′ size unit in the range of $50 to $60 dollars. This should hold the average contents of a typical dorm room. Another option is to rent a bigger unit with a friend and share the costs.
