good value, one dirty spot
I chose this storage unit because it was a good size for the price, and it wasn't too far away from where I will be living. It definitely beat out on price compared to other units in the county and I thought it was in a pretty safe area. They have standard security. A key code is required to enter and leave the facility. They said they check all the locks every day to make sure none of them are broken, which I thought was a plus. The paperwork didn't take too long. I was required to have insurance for the unit, which I was not told ahead of time, even though I went to the facility a week previous to check everything out and talk to the person in the office to make sure things would go smoothly on moving day. If I had known that, I would have had time to check with my current insurance and find out if they cover storage units. As it was, I just had to take their policy which was an extra $13 a month because I didn't have time to do anything else while moving. The person who did the paper work with me kept trying to upsell me on moving supplies and stuff, which I don't like that much, but I did end up buying two disc locks from them because it was more convenient. The billing is easy, and month to month, no contract, which is nice. They take automatic payments with my debit card so I won't have to worry about paying the bill each month. The main thing that I am taking a star off for was a huge dirty grease spot on the floor of the storage unit. They have signs posted that you are responsible to empty and clean your unit when you leave. But I don't think I should have to suffer because the last guy didn't follow instructions. They should have at least made an attempt to clean up the spot. When I pointed it out, the guy didn't seem to care or think it was a big deal. Any boxes that I would put on top of it would soak up the grease. I ended up not being able to put anything on top of that spot which was inconvenient.
