There’s nothing wrong with a houseplant, and I’ll certainly never complain about receiving a delicious bottle of wine. But, even if the standards get the job done well, I still like to have a little fun when coming up with creative — yet useful — housewarming and hostess gifts. Whether I’m heading over to a friend’s brand new home, or just want to bring them a little something to thank them for hosting a backyard barbecue, I think that a special little treat is always a welcome surprise.
If you’re searching for something a little more unique than your old, trusty standbys, you’re in luck! I’ve rounded up a few housewarming gifts that your friends and family will love — and use!
Kitchen goods are a pretty obvious choice for housewarming gifts, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get creative! A fun cheese board or a cute set of glasses always make great gift options. If all else fails, everybody loves getting a new coffee mug!
It’s not a secret — moving and entertaining can both be pretty stressful events. Inspire some relaxation with a decadent aromatherapy candle or set of luxurious soaps. A fun set of bath bombs or bubble bath is always appreciated for easing sore muscles in a hot tub after a big move.
Sometimes a good drink is just what the doctor ordered. So, spoil your host or friend with some new bar accessories. A set of fun swizzle sticks, some whiskey stones, or a beer glass that doubles as a bottle opener are all gifts that your booze aficionado friends will appreciate!
Although they may be all moved in, they likely still have some decorating to do. Help the process along by bringing a home decor gift for your host. Select a nice picture frame, a decorative print, or a gorgeous vase in order to help fill some of that empty space in their new digs!
Everybody loves a good laugh. And, if you’re close enough friends, you can definitely bring a gift that gets a chuckle out of your hosts. A funny doormat, humorous throw pillow, or even a snarky kitchen towel is sure to put a smile on your friend’s face!
Picking out a housewarming or hostess gift — especially for someone you don’t know that well — can be a little overwhelming and intimidating. But, there are plenty of options out there that will make you look like the greatest guest in the world. Stick with some of these suggestions, and I can guarantee you’ll be receiving a lot of party invites in the future!
