The University of California-Irvine (UCI) is a public research university located in Irvine, California. It is one of ten campuses in the University of California’s system. It was established in 1964. UCI is a beautiful campus with over 24,000 trees on the entire campus. Ring Mall is the main pedestrian road used by students and faculty to travel around the core campus. The road measures up to a perfect mile and completely encircles Aldrich Park. Most schools and libraries are lined up by this road with each of these schools having their own central plaza which also connects to Aldrich Park. UCI hosts a diverse array of nationally and internationally recognized research organizations. U.S. News & World Report ranked UC Irvine 44th among national universities and 12th among public universities.
UC athletic teams are called the Anteaters and they compete in the NCAA Division I and are members of the Big West Conference and the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. Their mascot is the Anteater.
Many student activities are held in Aldrich Park. The park is the site for “Wayzgoose”, a medieval student festival held each year in conjunction with the “Celebrate UCI” open house. There are also many extra curricular activities that can be done in the park.
The city of Irvine and Newport Beach which the campus is very close to, offer a wide range of things to see and do with its proximity to beaches and mountains and all the attractions of Southern California.
With a wide range of opportunities both in the city and elsewhere, students often find themselves looking for affordable and convenient self storage. Whether the reason is that you are moving into an apartment or might be doing a semester abroad, there are plenty of self storage units available close to UCI. A 5’X5′ storage unit which can hold the contents of a typical dorm room, can be found in the range of $62 to $86. This depends on the location of the facility and any specials that are being offered. It should be easy to find storage near 92697. Another great option is to rent a bigger unit and then share the space and cost with a friend.
