San Diego State University (SDSU), founded in 1897, is one of the largest in the state of California and that is no surprise when you consider that it offers not only one of the most desired places to live, but also offers over 200 areas of study leading to degrees. The largest undergraduate majors include art, business administration, criminal justice, liberal studies, nursing and political science.
This university places great importance on community and teamwork. A recent article in the student independent newspaper, The Daily Aztec, stated that San Diego State Student Life and Leadership rewards all students by hosting a Midnight Study Break. The Midnight Study Break allows students to take a breather from their studies and enjoy a variety of delicious breakfast foods that would satisfy even the pickiest eaters from hot fluffy pancakes, custom-made omelets, fresh fruit and delicious bakery items. The article also provided that students who are not fans of breakfast food are encouraged to come by and mingle with other students and faculty and enjoy a movie screening.
Major employers in the San Diego area are the United States Navy, Sharp Health Care, Scripps Health, Qualcomm, Inc., the City and County of San Diego and the Kaiser Foundation Hospital.
San Diego State University competes in the NCAA Division I. The Mountain West Conference is their primary conference. The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation is where the women’s water polo team participates, the men’s soccer team participates as an Associate Member of the Pacific-12 Conference and their hockey team competes in the ACHA with other western region club teams. The university colors are scarlet (red) and black. SDSU’s athletic teams are nicknamed the “Aztecs”, and their mascot the “Aztec Warrior” has historically been referred to as “Monty – Montezuma”.
Having a wide range of opportunities available to them both in the city and elsewhere, students often find themselves looking for affordable and convenient self storage. There are plenty of self storage units available close to San Diego State University. A 5’X5′ storage unit can be found in the San Diego area for about $55. This can vary depending on the location of the unit and any specials that might be being offered. You should be able to find storage units close to 92182. Students can find gated self storage facilities that offer 24 hour access that also provide direct drive up to the storage unit. Another thought might be to share a larger unit and costs with a friend.
