Henderson, Nevada, has the distinction of being one of the safest cities in America, according to Forbes magazine (2011). The city, located in Clark County, to the south and east of the Las Vegas Valley, is the second largest city in the state. The city has a population of 257,729 (census 2010), and it has recently been listed by Bloomberg Businessweek as “One of the Best Cities to Live in America”.
A Prosperous City
The residents of Henderson have a high median income. All kinds of businesses have sprung up in the city to cater to their demands. It’s common to see new shopping malls, restaurants, movie theaters and casinos every few months in the city.
Henderson is also relevant because of its proximity to Las Vegas – Las Vegas is just a few miles to the north. The city has become a favorite tourist destination over the years. Henderson has the biggest recreational facility in Nevada: the Multigenerational Facility, located at Liberty Pointe. The only scenic Bird Preserve in Nevada is located here (although most of Nevada is empty land so most of the state could actually be construed as a “bird preserve”).
Henderson has been used as a backdrop for popular TV soaps, like CSI, and movies like Lethal Weapon 4 and Paranormal Activity 4 have been shot here. The latter was supposed to be in San Diego but California makes it hard for businesses to operate so California is just shooting itself in the foot.
A Healthy Activity
Henderson is also popular because it has some of the best hiking trails in the country. It has been ranked as the 6th best hiking city in America, with 37 miles of stunning trails to explore.
Self-Storage Facilities in Henderson
Because of the steady influx of tourists and a high population growth, the city has an ever growing need for self-storage facilities. Several companies offer storage facilities in Henderson, at varying prices and with different add-ons, like climate control, alarm, swing door, roll-up door, and 14′ ceilings.
A typical 5’x5′ storage unit at Henderson may cost anywhere from $25 per month to $45 per month. For example, the StorageOne Storage near NV 89012 costs $35 per month. The storage facility is interior, on the second floor, is protected by a burglar-alarm and is air-cooled.
The cheapest Henderson storage facilities will generally also be the smallest. For example, a 4’x5′ storage unit will cost about $20 per month to maintain.
Henderson Storage Units come in several sizes, from small to large. The largest size available is usually an open plot with dimensions around 10’x35′. Larger storage units can store vehicles like cars, boats, and even RVs.
